There is so much more to Katy than meets the eye and in the past several years, residents have had the opportunity to see it grow from a stop on Interstate 10 West of Houston in the early 80s, into it's own city with all the amenities of a large metropolitan area. Katy's Bruce Reichstein is one Katy resident who has watched this little town grow and is today making a big impact within the community.

As a Katy businessperson, Reichstein is a visionary who strives to stay ahead of current trends - a mentality that has brought him success in many of his endeavors. In 2005, he set his sights on the development of a bank that would be tailor made for Katy's business community. The bank wouldn't be just a hometown bank, but one that would serve Katy's growing small business community from the perspective of those who know and love Katy, or community member to community member. Reichstein envisioned the bank as being locally managed and locally owned by a broad base of local shareholders. In early 2007, he saw his dream become a reality as Westbound Bank- www.westboundbank.com , opened its doors in January, 2007. It is the only Bank with its headquarters located in the city of Katy.

Westbound Bank offers Katy residents the opportunity to be actively involved in its growth and success while offering a broad range of commercial and customer banking services to small and medium-sized businesses. Reichstein believes that giving Katy residents the ownership and control of the bank will allow the bank to serve its customers more efficiently and effectively and ultimately contribute to the reception it receives from the community.

In addition to his duties at the bank, Reichstein is also the Principal of Texcorp Mortgage Bankers, Inc., a mortgage banking company he acquired in 1992. By 1997 Reichstein found himself and his company among Houston's 100 Fastest Growing Small Businesses, achieving the number 21 spot on the list and following in 1998 by rising ten spots to number 11. In that time Texcorp Mortgage Bankers, Inc. increased its sales growth percentage by over 650 percent.

Reichstein is a man who seizes opportunities as he sees them. Not long ago he set his sights on the Web site KatyTexas.com. After visiting the site on several occasions, Reichstein realized that due to its practical and visible web address, it had the potential to be a site that was not only a tremendous resource for Katy residents but also an excellent venue in which to highlight the best Katy offers.

On KatyTexas.com, Reichstein improved and expanded upon the original, providing information about local merchants, school and community events, demographics and more. The site is now a resource not only for long time Katy residents but those who are new to the area.

When it's all said and done, the future looks bright for Reichstein as well as for Katy. And if his proven track record of success is any indication of what's to come, you can look forward to Reichstein's hand being a part of many new and exciting things that will take place in the future here in the community we love.
